The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), the nation’s largest Latino-serving social service organization, has been helping children and families in need since 1963.
Youth Programs

For many years MAOF has been providing youth education and training programs for the at-risk youth of the County of Los Angeles. Services provided depend on the specific service strategy customized to each youth and may include preparation for postsecondary education, linkages between academic and occupational learning, supportive services, preparation for unsubsidized employment opportunities, and effective connections to intermediaries with strong links to the job market and to local and regional employers.

Supported and funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Community & Senior Services, via the Workforce Investment Act.

Eligibility and Targeting: The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth is designed to serve low-income youth who face barriers to continued education and employment. To be eligible, a young person must be aged 14 to 21, be low-income, and have at least one barrier.
