MAOF’s Development & Marketing Department welcomed 14 local college students to its Montebello headquarters to learn more about careers in the nonprofit sector. Prior to the workshop, participants listened to MAOF President Martin Castro and Chief Development Officer Suzanne Gonzalez talk about their experiences in nonprofit and career trajectory. A round of introductions was followed by three presentations on topics relevant to the student’s courses of study and careers goals including personal branding, networking, nonprofit marketing, and speechwriting. The workshop was delivered in collaboration with The Lagrant Foundation, an organization whose mission it is to increase the number of ethnic minorities in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations.  The Lagrant Foundation provides students with career development workshops, scholarships, internships, mentors and professional development.
