Lending Circles

Lending Circles are a time-honored tradition of folks coming together to borrow and lend money to each other, all for the sole purpose of building individual credit history and worthiness. Through a partnership with Mission Asset Fund, Lending Circles are credit building microloan that enable individuals to have access to capital in order to reduce debt, acquire emergency funds, or cover living expenses due to illness or unemployment. As a member of Lending Circles, there are many benefits including: an individual’s ability to build their credit history and credit worthiness. Studies have shown that Lending Circles programs have dramatic impact on an individual’s overall credit scores, and in some cases increasing their credit scores by as high as 168 points.

How it works

Lending Circles provides a zero-interest, zero-fee social loan to help participants establish or re-establish their credit score. Participants build credit by making low monthly payments of either $50 or $100 dollars a month and these payments will be reported to all three credit bureaus. Minimum of 6 participants and maximum of 10 participants per group each month, the payments are automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account every 17th of the month. The participant will receive disbursement on the 25th of the month that was given.
