How To Apply
All applicants may apply in person, via e-mail or via
mail by sending your completed application to the attention
of the MAOF HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMEMT. Please do not
fax the application, as we need the original for processing.
Only originals will be accepted.
In the space provided for work experience please be
sure to give the name of each employer, your job title,
beginning and ending dates, and salary history. If additional
space is needed to list job experience, attach a second
sheet to your application. This sheet must be in the
same format as shown on the job application. "Work Experience"
section (title, salary, employer, dates, etc.)
In order for your application to be accepted, you must
provide the following documents:
- Transcripts are REQUIRED when applying for the MAOF Head Start, Child Care and Pre-School programs,
- Transcripts must also be submitted for any position that requires a Bachelor's degree or higher REQUIRED,
- If applying for the position of Associate Teacher, Teacher, Head Teacher or Site Supervisor a copy of the Permit from the Commission of Teacher Credentialing is REQUIRED,
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED,

Job Openings:
Associate Teacher for Child Care or Pre-school
General Purpose:
To provide direct care, guidance and instruction to the children of the MAOF Pre-school/Child Care Program and to thereby insure a quality program which can be expected to promote the positive physical, mental, emotional, and social development of the child in a pleasant and rewarding learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
Must posses an Associate Teacher Permit or higher from the Commission of Teacher Credentialing Fluent English/Spanish preferred
Minimum one (1) year of successful classroom experience
Sincere commitment to providing services to children and the community
Able to work cooperatively with all program staff, as well as diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, religious and cultural groups.
Responsibilities:
Prepares lesson plans and materials according to the general program, outline or theme, and in accordance with contractual guidelines and prescribed procedures. Lessons should include but not limited to activity areas of dramatic play, science, math, art, music, language, nutrition, fine and gross motor.
Conducts initial, interim, and final assessments of children development, and documents of Individual Education Plans for each child. Conducts parent conferences on a scheduled basis for the purpose of communicating to the parents’ needs and progress of their child. Provides documentation on the results for meetings and conferences.
Assist in the supervision and on-the-job training and performance of assigned aides, paraprofessional personnel, student teachers, and volunteers and schedules activities for the same.

Director of Finance
General Purpose:
Responsible for all segments of the accounting functions for MAOF. Responsible for accounting controls, budget, and financial reporting to satisfy informational requirements for the President/Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, agency management and funding agencies. Participates in upper level management activities, meetings, and planning sessions.
Requirements:
Minimum CPA, Masters of Business Administration preferred
Five years experience in Accounting or related field, including two years in a managerial capacity. Non-profit experience with knowledge of public and private funding streams a plus
Background and experience in nonprofit management. Strong accounting and managerial skills
Strong computer experience in accounting and spreadsheet applications required; working knowledge of NAVISION accounting software a plus.
Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills
Work may include evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:
Supervises and develops Fiscal Services staff
Oversee all segments of the general accounting function, including the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers of the Agency, preparation of operating and financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, fixed asset control and depreciation, and accrual to meet anticipated liabilities. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all financial activities within the agency.
Responsible for developing methods and procedures for the preparation of overall Agency and departmental budgets
In conjunction with the President/Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for the preparation of the general Agency operating budget
Performs related duties as assigned.

Teacher Assistant for Child Care or Pre-school Program
General Purpose:
To assist in the instruction and care of the children and to provide for adequate adult supervision of children.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Six (6) units in Early Childhood Development.
Minimum of 1 year paid experience working with pre-school children.
Must pass pre-employment Health Screening.
Bilingual (Spanish / English) required.
Responsibilities:
Assists teacher in the implementation of safety rules and supervises the children’s activities in order to insure their safety.
Helps develop the social learning and physical skills of the children.
Assists in conducting individual and small and large group activities.
Assists in implementing the programs curriculum, philosophy, policies and regulations.
Attends staff meetings, conferences, workshops, in-service training, and parents meetings as assigned
Takes all reasonable precautions to insure the safety of the children and insures that children are supervised at all times.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Senior Accountant
General Purpose:
The Senior Accountant will be directly responsible for financial accounting, reporting and analysis, and budget monitoring, analysis, and reporting for various Child Development Contracts. The Senior Accountant will also assist in program specific audits as well as preparation of audit schedules
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of three (3) years experience in Accounting or related field
Minimum two (2) years Non-profit experience (knowledge of public and private funding streams a plus). Strong accounting skills.
Strong computer experience in accounting and spreadsheet applications required; working knowledge of NAVISION accounting software a plus

Responsibilities:
Assist and assure that the financial operations of MAOF Programs are in compliance with State Funding Terms and Conditions
Assist and assure that internal accounting and administrative control procedures are established to ensure funding source requirements are met
Develop and maintain reliable financial records in order to prepare financial statements and accountability of asset
Prepare monthly invoices for program reimbursement including projected expenditures
Monitor and prepare audit worksheets, reconciliation’s, and financial statements, including various reports to federal, state, and other agencies as well as for internal accounting operations
Performs related duties as assigned.
Salary: 45,000-55,000. Open until filled.
