Head Start License Vocational Nurse (LA County)

Job Summary
Ensures that children are up-to-date on an age appropriate schedule of well child care and provides expertise and guidance concerning the health and safety of the Head Start child; assist families in obtaining needed medical care by making referrals to appropriate community health care providers.

Qualifications

  • Completion of licensed vocational nursing program from an accredited technical
    educational institution. Pediatric or health education preferred

  • One year nursing experience in community health plus nursing administration and
    Supervision preferred.

  • Ability to plan, organize, allocate and control resources
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and related software programs
    (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Special Qualifications

  • Must meet State health requirements: Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance at the time of employment.
  • Criminal Records (e.g. Livescan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index, Sexual Offender Registry. Must be finger printed and cleared through the Justice Department. Fingerprints clearance must be active and on file with the Justice Department.
  • Must be 18 years of age to apply.
  • Must have a current valid California driver’s license, have use of a motor vehicle and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.
  • Red Cross Basic First Aide Certification and CPR Certificate are preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish / English fluency required.

Job Summary
Senior Care/Case Worker is responsible to provide professional social services work to each senior of the senior services program. Senior Care/Caseworker will evaluate and assess needs; develop, maintain and monitor client service and care plans; coordinate nutrition and support services program; and monitor placement and services provided. The Senior Care/Case Worker may exercise supervision of the Care/Case Worker.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in gerontology, psychology, social science or related field OR a satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Minimum of three (3) year work experience in the provision of social services to the elderly.
  • Ability to work with people on a one-to-one basis.
  • Establish a working relationship with client to seek positive resolutions to their specific needs.
  • Ability to work independently and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft office, excel, power point and word required.
    Flexible work hours; requires some weekend work.

Special Qualifications

  • Must meet State health requirements including passing a physical examination as a condition of employment, and must provide verification of a TB clearance at the time of employment.
  • Must be fingerprinted and cleared through the Justice Department. Fingerprints clearance must be active and on file with the Justice Department.

Driver Food Delivery-Senior Services Program (LA County)

Job Summary
Deliver meals to seniors on a daily basis in the MAOF designated areas, as assigned; will be required to float and provide coverage at designated sites; assist with the packaging of home delivered meals; review route sheets daily for changes; cleaning of equipment (coolers and bags) attend and participate in monthly meetings; in-service trainings and other agency meetings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a driver or with senior citizens preferred.
  • Experience working with the senior population is highly desirable.
  • Must enjoy working with elders. Knowledge of GPS and area helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must provide a current DMV printout and must be submitted with employment application.
  • Ability to speak read and write English well enough to understand and be understood by others.

Job Summary
The Nutrition Aide II demonstrates understanding by implementing all health, safety, and sanitation codes at all times. Retrieves, washes, and sanitizes dishes, bowls, and serving utensils daily in accordance with safety and sanitation polies. Sets up food items in preparation for lunch service and prepares hot and cold snacks daily.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English to the degree require to perform the job.
  • Prior job experience as Food Service Worker, preferably at a health related or public facility is highly desirable.
  • Basic mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions;
  • Plan well with a minimum of supervision; Current ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Must possess own vehicle at all times, a valid California Driver’s License and appropriate automobile insurance
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Special Qualifications
