Financial Literacy Program
Supported and underwritten by HSBC-North America, MAOF offers Financial Literacy and Education workshops on a monthly basis. Subjects covered include Identity Theft, Home Ownership, Credit Score, Credit Use, and basic banking information. Workshops offer an opportunity for clients to learn about the banking industry and services available to clients in improving their level of self sufficiency.
HSBC Financial Literacy Computer Lab
Underwritten by HSBC-North America, the HSBC/MAOF Financial Literacy Center was opened in 2005. Currently providing a training venue for our Youth programs, the Financial Literacy Center is also available for job training programs, tax preparation services, staff development, and ultimately for corporate training. The center houses multiple computers, printers, and a general reference library. Open daily, the Financial Literacy Center is the only center of its kind in East Los Angeles.
ESL
ESL classes are offered both internally as well as through collaborative partners. Classes are scheduled dependending on need.
Computer
Skills Education
Computer software education is offered for clients, staff, and local companies. Subject matter can be tailored to meet client needs and includes, but is not limited to, MS Office products and Adobe.
RHA Universal Lifeline Program
MAOF offers lifeline telephone services wherein qualifying clients can receive local telephone services for as little as $6.00 per month. Clients may qualify for the program with or without current telephone service having been established.
