- SHIAS - Supported and funded by the Los Angeles
Department on Aging, the MAOF Senior Hispanic Information
and Assistance (SHIAS) program provides information
and assistance services to seniors throughout Los
Angeles. Topic areas include Health, Transportation,
Housing, Employment, Naturalization, Hunger Awareness,
Document Preparation Assistance, etc.
HomeSecure
Program - Supported and funded by the Los Angeles
Department on Aging, the MAOF HomeSecure program provides
safety device installation services to qualifying
Seniors residing throughout the City of Los Angeles.
This service will provide safety device installation
in homes or apartments at no charge. Items installed
include Handrails, Peep Holes, Dead Bolts, Fire Detectors,
shower hoses (this list in not all inclusive).

Handyworker
- Supported and funded by the Los Angeles Housing
Department, the MAOF Handyworker program provides
non-permit requiring minor home repairs services to
qualifying Seniors and the Disabled. Work completed
may include interior and exterior painting, new flooring,
fences, doors, fire and carbon monoxide detectors,
handrails, minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry
work (this list is not all inclusive.) Services are
provided free of charge to those who qualify.
- EAGR - Supported and funded by the Los Angeles
Housing Department, the External Accessability Grant
for Renters (EAGR) program provides city permit requiring
upgrades to multi-unit homes housing disabled people.
Work must be completed in the "common" areas of the
unit/complex and must benefit a minimum of four (4)
clients. Work cannot exceed $5000.00 per client. Repair
work can include the installation of wheelchair ramps,
widening of doors, concrete work, handrails, etc.
