The
Mexican American Opportunity Foundation's Childcare Migrant
Program is designed to provide services to children ages
0-5 years old, Monday through Friday.
The Childcare Migrant Program provides children with positive and constant exposure to both the Mexican and American cultures through, the implementation of the bilingual approach and the High scope Curriculum.
Activities are developed to encourage the child's physical, mental and social development.
MAOF's Childcare Migrant Program also provides the child and the family with typical services. Those components are:
- The physical, mental and social development of the child
- Health and Safety
- Nutrition
- Cultural awareness and appreciation
- Family and community involvement
- Supportive services
- Developmental profile
- Parent - Teacher conferences
These services are offered free of charge to qualifying families that meet the eligibility requirements. Families must meet either (1), (2), (3) or (4):
- Family is a public assistance recipient
- Family is income eligible. When the number of family members and the amount of family income have been determined, eligibility may be established by reference to the family fee schedule.
- Homeless
- Child Protective services
Admission Priorities:
First priority: The family who has moved from place to place, either within California or from another state within the 12-month period immediately preceding the child's enrollment, in order for the parent(s) to secure employment in agriculture work or fishing activity.
Second priority: The family has qualified for child care and development services under the first within the past five years, is currently dependent upon seasonal agricultural work, but has not moved in the preceding 12-month period.
Third priority: The family resides in a rural agricultural area and is dependent upon seasonal agricultural work
