AT&T & MAOF: Bridging
the Digital Divide in our Preschools
In early 2006, MAOF partnered with AT&T to provide
the “BeSchoolReady Program” to four hundred
and fifty (450) 3- 5 year old preschool students in MAOF’s
Los Angeles County service area.
The MAOF-AT&T BeSchoolReady Program, made possible
by AT&T’s generous $25,000 contribution, provides
450 preschoolers with access to the BeSchoolReady Program’s
dynamic, internet based curriculum. For many children
this is their first educational experience with computers
so the project also addresses the critical issue of the
digital divide in the Latino community. The preschoolers
receive scientifically based learning activities and individualized
instruction where they will develop cognitive skills,
basic language skills, and improve their chances of kindergarten
success.
This generous donation is a boost to MAOF’s preschool
program and highlights AT&T’s commitment to
our community. MAOF thanks AT&T for their forward
thinking approach to education and access to technology.
